This simple, easy recipe makes crispy, delicious, fail-proof chips every time.
Ingredients:
- Potatoes
- Olive oil or oil spray
- Salt
- Pepper
Method:
First off, peel your potatoes and cut them into whatever size chips you like. Try and keep each a similar width so that they cook evenly.
Next, boil the chips in water until they’re cooked through. For larger ones, this’ll take a about 20 minutes, for the smallest less than 10.
Once they’re cooked, carefully drain them off and leave to cool for at least 15 minutes. If you’re in a hurry, just run cold water over them to speed up the process. At this point, set the oven to about 200 degrees Celsius.
Now add either olive oil (about a tablespoon) or oil spray (about 15 sprays) to a baking tray, then place the chips on it. Now add a little more oil or spray – along with salt and pepper to taste – and jiggle them about in the tray a bit, being careful not to break them.
Add your chips to the oven, and cook for 20 minutes. Now give them a jiggle and a flip, then cook until they’re crispy all over. Cooking time will of course depend on their size.
They’re done, it’s as easy as that!
